Utility Billing
-
$40 connection fee for new customers.
-
Bills issued on the first of every month.
-
Payment due by the 15th of each month (when the 15th falls on a Saturday or Sunday, payments will be accepted without penalty on the next business day.)
-
If you wish to drop a payment off after hours there is a drop slot to the left of the doors as you are entering the building. If it is after 5:00 p.m. on the 15th, the $5.00 penalty will be applied to your account.
-
The 16th - a $5.00 penalty will be added to accounts not paid. (may be forgiven first time or if you have not been delinquent in the 12 months prior. You must request to have the penalty removed: it will not be done automatically.)
-
The 16th - delinquent letters will be mailed, you then have by noon on the day preceding the scheduled shut-off date to submit a written request for a hearing, stating why payment can not be made and when you will be making your payment in full.
-
If service is shut off for non-payment, a reconnect fee of $50 in addition to your total past due must be paid before services will be restored.
Give us a call if you do not receive your bill at the beginning of the month, you are still responsible for payment.
When you get your bill it will be broken down into these categories:
-
WT = Water consumption, the amount of water that was used at your residence for that month
-
WS = Water Surcharge
-
SW = Based on water usage
-
SS = Sewer Surcharge
-
PN = Penalty charge
-
TX = Taxes (taxed at 7% on sewer surcharge)
- WA= Water excise tax (taxed at 6% on water and water surcharge only)
-
AR = Arrears, the amount left on your bill from the previous month
- SD = Storm Water Fee
You are charged for all water that runs through the meter. If your usage is higher than normal please check for leaks ( the toilet is a good place to start - the leak there can be silent, deceiving, and expensive ).
The meter is designed to record all water going through it down to the gallon. If there is a problem with the meter it will actually read at a lower usage, and sometimes no usage at all - never at a higher usage.
Where is your meter?
If you do not have a meter pit in your yard, more than likely it will be located near the exterior wall where your service line comes in.
